Nylog is truly great in so many ways, but it's not the best fit for everything.
One example is coarse threaded fittings.
I've had success with Nylog handling just fine with fine threads but it's the NPT (National Pipe Thread) that are coarse threads that I've gotten in trouble with.
It has held at first but it doesn't take long in operation to get pushed out and leak.
This is what led to me finding Loctite 554.
Not to be confused with Loctite 515, which is for gaskets.
515 is the bane of my career... So many failed valves
Anywho, 554 is an amazing thread sealer that has performed great for me over the years.
While 515 has it's place when used correctly.
My personal go to is Nylog for seals and 554 for threads.
