DB9 for Chiller Service Software Communication Connector

Some of the equipment we service requires proprietary modules to communicate with them but many don't. One of the connectors used is a 9 pin serial connector. These can look like a VGA display connector at first glance. A VGA has 15 pins but the serial connector we use is 9 pins.

A technical name for this is a Male DB9 Serial Connector. I personally use a DB9 to USB-A (regular USB).

Make sure it is a male connector and the studs are male srews. If it has female studs then it wont fit most equipment connectors. I'll let you decifer why their called male and female. If your not sure, ask a buddy....

Two examples that use the DB9 is Danfoss Turbocor compressors and Trane CH530 (Tech View/Dynaview) controls.

Here is an Amazon link to one, https://a.co/d/gJ9GK9B. This is not an affiliate link so don't worry about commission stuff. You might consider a USB extension cable as well. I carry a 12 foot extension to find the nice shady spot.
